The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federally funded program that provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education to low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, and to infants and children up to age five. WIC is available in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and American Samoa.
